Voice Searching Matters

Relevance is a measure of how appropriate a given page is for a given query. In the early days of SEO, this ultimately boiled down to what keywords were used in a query, compared to what keywords were found on an indexed page. SEO experts have been talking about mobile technology for a while now. This year, it’s even more important than ever that you sit up and listen to what they’re saying. It’s now extremely common for people to use their mobile devices to perform a search instead of using a desktop or laptop computer. Although word count doesn’t rule the SEO world – nobody will read your stuff if it’s not helpful to them. Build a unique contact page for each location that you operate and mark up your location information in Schema.org. The Google search results page is a beautiful menagerie of links and blurbs and information and value, and any advantage your content can get in order to rank higher is worth pursuing. Google authorship is a clear advantage. With authorship, you receive a boost in visibility, clickthroughs, and influence, and you get ownership over what you create.

You need to understand keyword intent

Does the content add an enormous amount of value or is it thin and veiled in an attempt to merely rank for a keyword? Is the content unique? You can't skimp on quality. Not today. Guest articles are a good way of improving your branding and getting high-quality backlinks. This area of offpage optimization has more to do with editing and PR. So you should look for publication channels that would be a good fit for you to write guest posts. When it comes to SEO, monitoring for keywords and changes in your website’s backlink profile is one of the most tedious tasks. Search engine guidelines have evolved from the long-running abuse of search algorithms by aggressive Web marketers. Most of the guidelines put into place by Bing, Google, and other search engines are reactions to deceptive marketing practices. The guidelines are as close as you will get to having a check list of things that lead to penalties and algorithmic downgrades. Link building has no single technical definition. If you ask me, I would say link building is doing your best to get high quality websites to link to you. However, a more standardized definition would go like this: Link Building involves acquiring hyperlinks from reputed and high quality websites.

Google can’t guarantee that your AJAX based websites or applications will be properly cached

Search engines are not impressed by a vast vocabulary; they want you to be consistent throughout the article. A good link profile is not just backlinks. Stated another way, backlinks are just one component of the link profile. There is a deeper complexity to the backlink discussion. The way in which consumers search with be noticeably changed by digital assistants. Long tail SEO can attract traffic. Rich snippets are designed to help search engines better understand what information is on a particular webpage. This is done through structure data markup on the back-end of the page. Even though snippets don't play a direct role in rankings, they can work wonders on a website's click through rate. Even with more and more consumers using their mobile devices to search and browse the web, there are some companies that still focus all their marketing and SEO efforts to desktops and choose to ignore their mobile customers (or just don’t realize how mobile their customers really are).

Google has made its review markup guidelines fairly clear

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "Search engines use links to crawl the web. Crawlers will flow from links between the internal individual pages on your website and they will crawl the links between different websites." The reason you want natural, helpful, informative links is that you don’t want to have to constantly replace links ignored by the search engines and you don’t want to suffer from penalties and downgrades. Link acquisition should happen without anxiety. Google historically has looked for ‘exact match’ instances of keyword phrases on documents and SEO have, historically, been able to optimise successfully for these keyword phrases – whether they are grammatically correct or not. Without discounting the value of links and traffic, content is most likely the key element of a website's charisma. Good content will lead to links and traffic. It is important to have backlinks from quality sites, and those backlinks should be contextual.

Do Your (Keyword) Research

When you link to reputable 3rd parties in your website, you are indirectly benefitting your SEO in many ways. In the early days of the Internet, people participated in traffic exchange programs. You joined a network of websites that opened pop-under windows that contained a link to your website. Your website would get thousands of visitors within a few days. Remember, the reason that website isn't bringing in customers is because you have given them no reason to come back. Not all links are equal, as high-authority sites contribute more heavily in this regard. This means you should aim for more reputable mentions – but without snubbing any lesser sites that might link to you, as it all adds up. It’s easier for a source to link to your content if it’s authentic, interesting and well-researched, so always aim for quality over quantity. All your citations (an online reference to your business including your NAP) need to be consistent, so as you start building them (see below), make sure that firstly, your NAP is correct, and the same (so Google & Bing can see the connection).

Technical optimization

Many marketers will have seen a technical SEO checklist in their time. Any time a site migration is approaching or a technical audit is scheduled, a checklist tends to appear. Good quality takes time to create. It takes time to implement. And it takes time for Google to acknowledge that quality. The basic premise is that a page will show up in search engine results because the website had mentioned the terms that were being searched for on the website page. Of course, many websites use the same keywords on the same page. Do you publish new content exclusively for the enjoyment of your existing audience? Or do you want it to rank high in Google and bring new visitors to your site month after month? Information Snippets are the block of text found under the main title of a google search result. The use of information snippets are important when writing an article.
